JOB ADVERTISEMENT: GENDER AND MEDIA NETWORK MANAGER
Gender Links is a dynamic Southern African NGO based in Johannesburg
that promotes gender equality in and through the media. GL currently
hosts the secretariats for the Gender and Media Southern Africa
(GEMSA) Network and its South African chapter, SAGEM. GL and its
networking partners seek the services of an experienced, highly
motivated and committed individual to manage and promote the growth
of these networks. The successful candidate will come from Southern
Africa and will have the following:
* A strong background in gender and the media;
* Excellent verbal, writing and networking skills;
* Experience and facility with use of IT for networking and advocacy;
* Fund raising and report writing skills;
* At least three years experience working at management level;
* Knowledge and experience of Southern Africa.
The post, which is for an initial period of one year, is based in
Johannesburg and will require flexibility to travel. A competitive
remuneration package will be offered, commensurate with the
qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.
