Campaign Co-ordinator in Right to Work Programme
AIDC seeks a committed activist and policy advocate to serve as its campaign
co-ordinator. The suitable candidate will be required to
· Lead, develop and manage a popular campaign in respect of current high
levels of unemployment,
· Build strong links with trade unions, popular movements, faith-based
organisations and NGOs aimed at building broad based coalitions and networks
to advance the campaign objectives.
· Develop positions and strategies to engage with or confront the relevant
institutions / policies affecting unemployment.
· Develop an advocacy and lobbying strategy for engagement with government
policy and other institutions proposing concrete demands
Requirements
· Must have extensive organisational experience in popular organisations or
social justice networks or coalitions.
· Must have excellent analytical skills;
· In depth knowledge of South Africa's political economy and macro-economic
policy framework.
· A proven ability to work with young people is essential.
· Must be able to speak one or more local language.
· Must have a driver's license and be fully computer literate.
You will be appointed for three years. Salary will be commensurate with
