SANGONeT ICT Services Manager
The Southern African NGO Network (SANGONeT) is a dynamic NGO providing a
wide range of Information Communication Technology (ICT) services to
organisations working for economic and social development in the Southern
African region.
In the past two years SANGONeT has expanded the focus and scope of its ICT
services. These include the introduction of NGO.ZA - "ICT services for civil
society", Thetha: The SANGONeT ICT Discussion Forum and SANGONeT's Annual
"ICTs for Civil Society" Conference and Exhibition. All these initiatives
will henceforth focus on Southern African ICT issues.
SANGONeT would like to appoint a Manager to provide strategic leadership in
support of all its internal operational and infrastructural requirements,
and external service delivery obligations and initiatives. This position is
a challenging opportunity for someone passionate about the potential role
and contribution of ICTs in support of the NGO sector in Southern Africa,
with a keen interest in developing, promoting and introducing new
applications relevant to the work of the sector.
Amongst other things, the successful applicant will be responsible for:
. Informing the strategic ICT focus and activities of the organisation;
. Developing, planning and implementing various new internal and external
ICT initiatives;
. Networking and liaison with key government, private sector and civil
society stakeholders in support of their participation and contribution to
SANGONeT's ICT activities.
Requirements and Qualifications:
. Technical graduate, certificate or diploma qualification;
. At least 5-7 years' relevant work and project management experience;
. Solid knowledge of the Southern African ICT and NGO sectors;
. Understanding of local and international ICT issues and applications
relevant to the NGO sector;
. Excellent writing, communication skills and fundraising skills;
. Ability to manage and prioritise a tight workload and multi-task;
. A valid drivers' license.

planning, organisation, leadership, assertiveness, judgement, thoroughness
and teamwork.
